Campus redefined contemporary complex

Conceptualization:

The project began with the idea of sports area as a focus as in a stadium drawing the attention of the spectators. The outdoor sports were all open to sky and their benefit of light and ventilation could be used. So, they were designed as courtyards around which the built facilities could support the sports facility.

Design Development:

A module of the support facility with a few classrooms that can expand into halls, having windows that can transform into racked seating to watch the matches. These modules repeated around every court-yard such as the badminton court, tennis court and others.

Design:

Around each of the courts, the walls of the classrooms are made of horizontal louvers which can be completely closed when conducting classes, moved to form stacked seating while the match is going on and serve the ventilation and light purpose otherwise.

The classrooms have a moving panel within; along with it the furniture gets folds up from the floor and unfolds into the floor. The building height is limited to 5m to ensure the open courts feel similar to stadium in ambiance with abundant light from the sky.

The roof has a jogging track for the joggers accessible from the ramps. There are secondary access points at few courts where sportsmen can enter or exit the building. There are a few pause points for seating as well.

The football court has an athletic track around it which is raised by 1m from the normal ground. This mound serves as seat to watch football and also a boundary. Beyond this, there is an amphitheatre where audience can watch the matches. On event days, there is a glass roof that slides down and hides below ground regularly.

The campus also has a designated space for public use. The sports courts are exclusively for the public and there are a few commercial spaces for sports accessories.

The common amenities gym, swimming pool, admin office are in proximity to the living quarters. A sloping wall for mountaineering is a feature at the club. The hostel units are modular,
